    Medical and dental insurance have become virtually universal perks over the past few years for workers in the United States. And another benefit that's not far behind is basic vision coverage.

    Just as with any insurance policy, the level of coverage will vary depending on cost, but most employer-sponsored vision plans will now cover routine eye exams once per year, as well as prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses, and screening for glaucoma.
