  • Timeshare Ownership in British Columbia

Welcome to BCTimeshares.com, an informational website about how to buy fractional ownership of vacation real estate in British Columbia, Canada.

Timeshares are a type of vacation property ownership, which allow holiday makers to buy a share of the resort in which they stay.

Buyers are able to purchase blocks of time (usually in weeks), on either a deeded or "right to stay" basis, allowing them to make use of a vacation condo, cottage, or recreational property during the given time periods.

The idea of timeshare ownership first came about in the 1960s in Europe, when a ski resort in the French Alps told its guests that they could "stop renting a room," and instead "buy the hotel." This business model spread around the world, and remains popular to this day.

This site is designed to examine the principles associated with timeshare ownership, and relate them to popular tourist destinations here in British Columbia.
